  23.  akPNG.datatype is a PNG datatype, which is based on the
  24.  latest PNG sources (zlib V1.1.3, libpng version 1.0.8).
  25.  
  26.  So it does support 8 Bit color mapped files (colorspace expanded to
  27.  8 bit per component always) and True color files (24/48 Bit, alpha
  28.  channel ignored, 48 Bit 16:16:16 cut down to 24 Bit 8:8:8).

  36.       o (upto) 256 palette colors
  37.       o HAM6 or HAM8

  39.    - picture.datatype V43 (CyberGraphX or Picasso96 *) or V44 (OS 3.5)

  41.       o 24 Bit RGB

  43.  Where upto 256 colors always will be exported unmodified,
  44.  and 24 Bit data either is dithered or converted to HAM6/HAM8,
  45.  if it can't be or should not be exported unmodified.
